North London Shamrocks club notes

June 06, 2019

It's been a quiet(ish) few weeks for the club but as always there is plenty going on behind the scenes with the committee as busy as ever and players stepping up training now that the evenings are longer and the playing season is starting to get going.

Our home pitch in Tottenhall Road has been tended to by the council with new posts being erected, the pitch re-lined and cut and ready to host upcoming fixtures for both the youth and senior sides. First of these will be a Youth Blitz which is taking place on Saturday, June 15th with teams from all across London being represented. Last year this was a fantastically represented event, with some real quality on show from the Youth GAA teams/clubs in London. With the interest in this years event we're convinced it will be a greater success so would encourage all to come down and support it.

The club will be holding a Race Night in The Wishing Well, Palmers Green on the evening of Saturday, July 6th. All are welcome. Arrangements for our Annual Golf Day are being finalised and the date/venue will be confirmed in due course.

NLS Reserves have had two league fixtures so far and are reporting a 50% win rate. We beat St Joseph's two weeks ago but suffered defeat in an away fixture to Thomas McCurtains last weekend. This weekends league fixture vs Eire Og has been postponed. NLS seniors are due for their first league outing vs CuChullians on Thursday, June 13th, 7pm throw-in (Greenford).

Training for the season continues and NLS are actively recruiting new players. If you're located in North London and interested in joining then contact management - Tom Kilcommons (07944 294795), or Kenny Fagan (07805 198158) or email [email protected]
