St Joseph's club notes

Senior Football

Last weekend the senior team booked their place in the Shields Cup final with a comprehensive victory over Eire Og in the Scrubs - right from the off the Joes lads were in the ascendancy and at half time were 8 points to the good. This trend continued even with the Joes down a man, with the senior lads running out 1-16 to 0-05 winners.

The week before the senior lads got their league campaign off to a winning start running out 7 point winners on the day. Again the guys blew their opponents out of the water in the first 15minutes registering 2-01 before Tara got on the scoresheet. This took any pressure off the joes lads and despite some pressure in the second half from Tara won comfortably enough on a scoreline of 3-11 to 1-10.

This week the senior team have two fixtures to contest with both in the league, firstly they take on Garryowen in Greenford - with a throw in time of 19:15. All players requested to be in attendance no later than 18:45.

The second game to take place will be against St.Clarets in Ruisip with a throw in time of 14:00 all players asked to be in attendance no later than 13:15.

We would ask that all come out to support the lads on what has been a very encouraging start to the season.

If there are an updates on any of the upcoming fixtures please keep an eye on our Facebook and Twitter pages.
