Sambo looks to Derry resistance
March 27, 2004
Former Antrim hurling ace Terence McNaughton has given a vote of confidence to the beleagured Derry senior hurlers ahead of their crunch NHL Division 2A clash with Kildare this weekend.
McNaughton can't believe the Oak Leafers have gotten themselves into such a precarious position in the division but he is convinced that the county has the talent to make good their bid for survival.
"Due to lack of commitment or whatever else, Derry hurlers have put themselves in this position.
"They are the only ones who can dig themselves out of a hole they've put themselves in.
"Whoever pulls on a Derry jersey against Kildare owes the county something, owes hurling in Derry something.
"They have the hurlers to do it."
