Peter Donnelly has returned to his coaching role with Tyrone after settling a dispute with county board officials.

Tyrone's Strength and Conditioning coach handed in a letter of resignation to the board last week, but it is understood that differences between the two parties have since been resolved ahead of the Red Hands' league meeting with Meath on Sunday.

The news comes as a major boost to Tyrone boss Mickey Harte, as well as the county's U21 footballers, whom Donnelly also works with, ahead of their Ulster championship quarter-final against Cavan next Wednesday.

"I never considered that he was away," Harte told the Irish Daily Star.

"I am not party to politics of the game. I just think that Peter Donnelly is a wonderful asset to this county and I hope he stays there for a long, long time."
