Sherlock: Tyrone won't win Sam

April 29, 2013
Jason Sherlock doesn't see Tyrone as All-Ireland contenders.

Despite the absence of star forward Stephen O'Neill, the Red Hands pushed All-Ireland favourites Dublin to the pin of their collar in yesterday's Allianz Football League final, but writing in the Irish Daily Star, Jayo said: "I still feel Tyrone aren't anywhere near the force they were when they were winning All-Irelands a few years ago.

"Niall Morgan is a huge asset, and opponents will be wary of fouling 50 metres from their own goal because he is so accurate. He is also a fine shot-stopper, comfortable under the high balls and his kick-outs are accurate and intelligent.

"In tight games, Morgan could be the difference. But I can't see Tyrone still being around in September.

"They are just a little short of the highest quality and don't have the squad for a succession of high intensity games. I think their key players might struggle to get through a long summer injury-free."
