Garrycastle GAA president Seamus Nugent was given a lovely surprise last night when members of the Westmeath club drove by his house to celebrate his 85th birthday.
Due to social distancing measures, Seamus couldn't have a party to mark his milestone birthday so Garrycastle organised a 'drive-by' for him instead.
Seamus, who has been 'cocooning' for the past few months, was taken outside by his family as cars beeped their horns to wish him Happy Birthday.
Garrycastle senior players John Gaffey and Doron Harte brought along the county league and championship cups which they claimed last year and left them on Seamus' wall.
With all that is going on in the world, it's great to see community spirit is still alive and well, and it was fantastic to see some Garrycastle players and supporters come out in force to celebrate the birthday of Club President and Westmeath GAA legend Seamus Nugent.
