Cathal McShane is expected to miss the remainder of Tyrone's Allianz Football League campaign after suffering an ankle injury in his side's heavy defeat to Galway this afternoon.

The All Star full forward, who was making his first start for the Red Hands since turning down the chance to play Aussie Rules with the Adelaide Crows a few weeks ago, was stretchered off in the 39th minute at Tuam Stadium. 

Tyrone manager Mickey Harte admitted after his side's 0-12 to 2-25 hammering that McShane would likely face a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
