Summer Camp 2019;

Another brilliant club Tyrone summer camp took place in Páirc Mhíc Sioghair this week with over 100 Children taking part.

A massive thanks to the Club Tyrone coaches for their work and they were ably assisted by our own club coaches with a special mention to our youth players.

Thanks also to all those who assisted with Tea and Refreshments and with the Coffee Morning on Thursday.

Youth Football;

Well done to club player Jessica Molloy who represented the club at half time in the Tyrone v Mayo Ladies game on Saturday.

 

Under 16 girls training will commence on Monday evening at 6.30pm in Sigersons.

 

County Representatives;

Everyone at Strabane Sigersons would like to congratulate Ruairi Gormley on Captaining Tyrone Under 20’s to the Ulster Championship on Sunday evening after a 4-13 to 1-10 victory over Derry. A super achievement for Ruairi and the team who now go forward to face Cork or Kerry in the All-Ireland Semi Final.

 

Unfortunately, Tyrone under 17's were edged out 1-13 to 1-11 by Monaghan on Sunday in the Ulster Final. Aaron McGrath started at Corner Forward and had an excellent game whilst Oran was a substitute, however Oran is still an Under 17 next year so he still has another big year ahead of him again. Their season is not over as they will enter the All-Ireland Quarter Final, best of luck to them in that series. Well done to Aaron and Oran, both lads have done their families, club and town extremely proud. We look forward to seeing them represent Sigersons and hopefully Tyrone for many years to come!

 

Well done to Tori McLaughlin and Ellie Jay McMenamin who were on the Tyrone Senior Panel that were defeated 3-14 to 3-11 by Mayo on Saturday, Tori started at centre half back.

 

Commiserations to Marty Conway, Desi Friel and Donna Bogle who were part of the Tyrone Under 16 team management who were defeated in the All-Ireland B Final last Wednesday.

We would like to extend a very Happy 70th Birthday to our club Vice President Fr Michael Doherty, as many will know he has been a great asset to the town since his arrival many years ago and has always been a brilliant supporter of Strabane Sigersons.
