'He has to condemn it'

Oisin McConville expects Mickey Harte to condemn the incident involving Tiernan McCann and Stephen McMenamin.

McCann is facing a retrospective ban after video footage showed him making contact with McMenamin's face before standing on him during Tyrone's Ulster SFC semi-final defeat to Donegal yesterday.

"It's ugly in so many respects," former Armagh sharpshooter McConville said during BBC's coverage of the game.

"There is two sides to it, the first side is he tried to pull the gumshield out of McMenamin's mouth. The second part is the stamping, standing on his head. As a Gaelic footballer, it's inexcusable. There is no doubt they will throw the book at him.

"He (Mickey Harte) has to condemn it. I'm pretty sure he will. If he sees those pictures, there is nothing else. There is no other conclusion he can come to."
