Tyrone GAA are set to develop O'Neill Park in Dungannon into their second ground.
Healy Park in Omagh is the county ground, but Coalisland and Carrickmore have both hosted McKenna Cup games in recent years. However, according to Tyrone GAA's five-year Strategic Plan, 'Ag Ardú Níos Airde Arís na Laimhe Deirge … Raising the Red Hand Even Higher', which was launched in Garvaghey last night, Dungannon is poised to become the county's secondary ground.
"Major GAA fixtures in Tyrone are a very important part of our games and contribute significantly to the local economy," the report read.
"Healy Park remains a major asset, but O'Neill Park, Dungannon requires support to develop as Tyrone's second 'county ground' and act as a venue for major games in the east of the county."
The new plan will guide Tyrone GAA through the next five years and ranges across seven themes, covering all aspects of the county's GAA business, on and off the field.
