Holders St Martin's are the first team to book their place in the quarter-finals of the Wexford SHC after beating Cloughbawn 0-23 to 0-15 at a wet Bellefield on Friday evening.

Jack O'Connor was once again scorer in chief for the Saints with the Wexford forward sending over 0-13 as they recorded a second win on the spin in Group A.

Cloughbawn were seven points adrift at half time (0-13 to 0-6) and had the advantage of the breeze for the second half but failed to make any inroads into the deficit.

In the day's other second round clash at Chadwicks Wexford Park, a penalty goal from Conor McDonald in the dying seconds handed Naomh Eanna a dramatic 2-11 to 0-16 victory in their Group D opener against Rapparees.
