May 16th should have been a very important milestone in his life but 8-year-old Kilmacud Crokes player Eoin McCormack will be cycling 26 miles for charity today instead of making his First Holy Communion.
Eoin will complete the marathon near his home with the aim of raising vital funds to support the Irish Cancer Society and the St Luke's Radiation Oncology Centre at Beaumont Hospital where his grandad Des McCormack recently underwent cancer treatment.
Eoin originally set out to raise €500 through the cycle challenge but at the time of writing his GoFundMe page stands at a massive €61,429 with donations still pouring in - https://www.gofundme.com/f/cycle-for-st-lukes-cancer-centre-beaumont
