No Hurling-Shinty in 2020.

The Camanachd Association, the governing body for Shinty, have confirmed that the 2020 Hurling-Shinty Internationals between Ireland and Scotland have been officially cancelled.

The annual Hurling-Shinty U21 and senior Internationals had been scheduled to take place in October along with the Camogie-Shinty women's International.

In a statement published on its website (www.shinty.com), Camanachd Association CEO Derek Keir, said they have agreed to call off this year's Internationals following consultation with the GAA:

“The decision to cancel the Mowi Shinty/Hurling Internationals was not taken lightly," the statement reads.

"However, the Camanachd Association board of directors along with the GAA in Ireland, agreed that running this year’s Internationals would just not be possible due to the implications and restrictions of COVID-19.

"The Camanachd Association will continue to monitor and follow national guidance and our focus will be on providing opportunities for all communities if restrictions allow when it is safe to do so."
