The damaged goals at Liverpool Wolfe Tones

Liverpool Wolfe Tones are appealing for help after their goalposts were broken by Storm Ciara.

When players reported for training at the club’s Waventree grounds on Sunday morning they found that not only had the devastating storm left its mark on their pitch but both sets of goalposts had also been damaged beyond repair.

It’s a huge setback for the club, who are celebrating their tenth anniversary this year and are the only GAA club in the north of England who offer their members men’s and ladies football as well as hurling and camogie.

They have set up a GoFundMe page, with the aim of raising £5,000 to replace the destroyed goalposts and £560 had been secured at the time of writing.
