The race to replace Pauric Fanning as Waterford senior hurling manager sees former county hurler Peter Queally as the front runner.

The current Abbeyside and Ballinacourty manager’s name was put forward before the deadline passed last week.

Queally was part of Davy Fitzgerald’s management team in the late 00’s and has had a great degree of success in club management in the county. He has also been manager of the county's under-20/21 side for the past two years.

The five-man committee made up of Stephen Frampton, Tom Feeney, Irial Mac Murchú, Pat Flynn and Sean Michael O’Regan will interview all nominees in the coming weeks.
