Another setback for Delaney

Kilkenny defender Conor Delaney has received the devastating news that his season may be over after he broke his leg in a club match.

Delaney had only received the good news that he was free to play in the Leinster SHC opener against Dublin next month.

However, the Erin’s Own clubman who looked set to step in at full back for the Cats will be sidelined for a couple of months at the very least.

Delaney broke a bone in his lower leg playing against Danesfort last weekend and is now on the recovery with the Leinster SHC an unlikely target for him.

Meanwhile, Richie Hogan has not trained since being taken off as a precaution in the same game and is now rated doubtful for the Dublin clash.

Already definitely out are Robert Lennon, James Maher and Cillian Buckley who are sidelined with long term injuries.
