Scotland reveal shinty selection

Scotland's Kevin Bartlett

Scotland manager Garry Reid has named his side for next Saturday week’s annual hurling/shinty international in Inverness.

There are four players from Lovat, including Kevin Bartlett (pictured), on the 20-man squad which Reid is confident can overcome Ireland at Bught Park.

"The 32 players who were invited to the training sessions made it a very difficult task for the coaching team to select the final 20 players that will face Ireland as I have no doubt that all 32 players could have performed at international level,” the Scotland manager is quoted saying by inverness-courier.co.uk

"However, in picking the squad it is hoped that we have recognised the players that have performed well for their club over the season and that wearing a Scotland shirt will be a fitting climax to their season.”

Scotland squad: Stuart MacDonald, Rory Kennedy, Andy MacKintosh, Daniel Grieve, Conor Cormack, Mark MacDonald, Michael Russell, Finlay MacRae, Steven MacDonald, Shaun Nicolson, Grant Irvine, Kevin Bartlett, Greg Matheson, Roddy MacDonald, Lorne Dickie, John MacRae, Glen MacKintosh, Andrew MacCuish, Evan Menzies, Arran MacPhee
