There was no stopping Ballygunner’s drive for five in Fraher Field today.
Fergal Hartley’s side maintained their vice-like grip on the Waterford SHC silverware with a 2-19 to 0-13 victory over Abbeyside.
Brian O’Sullivan and Conor Power netted the goals in the 40th and 50th minutes respectively while Pauric Mahony found the target with 0-14 (8 frees).
Six of those points arrived in the first-half and, despite having played against the wind, the team in black and red led by 0-9 to 0-6 at the midway point.
It was all one-way traffic after the break as the holders outscored their opponents by 2-10 to 0-7.
Abbeyside’s cause wasn’t helped by a red card shown to Patrick Hurney on the three quarter hour mark.
