Na Piarsaigh forward David Dempsey is adamant that they will not be taking All-Ireland club SHC semi-final opponents Slaughtneil for granted.

The sides meet at Parnell Park on Saturday (2pm) and the Limerick and Munster champions are raging hot favourites at 1/50.

Despite this, Dempsey stressed to the Limerick Leader that Slaughtneil would be treated with the same respect that any other team they face would.

He also added that the Derry and Ulster champions are an experienced side having reached last year's All-Ireland semi-final.

"We're not taking anything for granted," said Dempsey. "We're under no illusions that any day we go out we can be stopped."

Dempsey added that even though they have had great success in recent years, they are not about to rest on their laurels as they know this journey will not last forever.

"If we can make hay as long as the sun is shining, that is what our aim is. We've a core group of players there from 18 to 25 or 26 that have been really successful for the last six or seven years. We're all at a good age and we're looking to keep driving forward."
