One of Wexford hurling's brightest young prospects, Conall Flood has been ruled out of action for the rest of the year.

Flood underwent surgery on the dreaded cruciate knee injury sustained when playing for Waterford IT in the Fitzgibbon Cup last week. This rules the youngster out of the remainder of the inter-county season.

The Cloughbawn clubman was brought into the Wexford senior squad this year and already was making a big impression on the management team.

Meanwhile, in better news for the Model County, defender Damien Reck who injured his ankle during the win over Cork last weekend, will be available for their next outing against Tipperary.

Other players like Rory O'Connor, Colm Kehoe and Liam Og McGovern are all making steady progress as they battle back from their respective injuries.
