It may just be a secondary competition to many, but Wicklow manager Seamus Murphy is keen for the county's hurlers to pick up some silverware on Sunday when they take on Longford in the Kehoe Cup final.

Murphy oversaw his charges being beaten by Down in the NHL Division 2B campaign last Sunday, but they have a chance of silverware this weekend and the Wexford native believes that it would be a huge boost for the county to win the title.

And part of the squad for Sunday's decider in Pearse Park will be Jonathan 'Bosco' O'Neill who was part of the last Wicklow side to win the Kehoe Cup fifteen years ago.

"It's 15 years since Wicklow have won the Kehoe Cup and if Jonathan O'Neill Snr is togging out, and I hope he is, he will be the only member of the current panel with a Kehoe Cup medal," Murphy told the Wicklow People.

"He will be there for us. He's been a loyal servant to club and county for many years and he'll be there on Sunday."

The 42-year-old lined out already in the competition this year, alongside his 18-year-old son Jonathan Jnr.
