Former Wexford dual star Paul Carley has been named the new manager of Bray Emmets senior hurlers.

The Wicklow side were defeated in last year's county SHC final, having won a coveted three in a row of senior titles before that.

Tipperary's Tommy Carroll had been in charge of the side last year, but he has stood down and is being replaced by Carley who has been making a name for himself on the managerial circuit in recent years.

The Glynn-Barntown clubman managed Dublin side Ballyboden St Enda's for two years before managing Wexford outfit Ballygarret more recently.

Carley's father Willie is a former manager of the Wicklow senior hurlers, while his brother Shane was part of the Wexford squad that won the All-Ireland SHC title in 1996.
