Galway defender Aidan Harte says consistency will be key again for the Tribesmen in 2018 as they look to defender their National League and All-Ireland championship crowns.

Micheál Donoghue's charges earned their county's first Liam MacCarthy Cup in 29 years this past September when they conquered Waterford at Croke Park and Harte knows the westerners will be heading into the new season as marked men.

"We have been consistent which is good and that's something management always speaks about," the Gort clubman told GAA.ie.

"Having a team that supporters are proud of and happy to go and watch give their all. You do really believe that the rub of the green sometimes, but we've been lucky the last three years.

"We have been consistent. From the 1st of January it's anyone's ball game. There are six or seven teams that can beat each other on any given day so we'll be looking forward to it again next year."
