Offaly manager John Maughan will make a final decision on his future in the role.

The Offaly County Board met for their July meeting recently and chairman Tommy Byrne told delegates that they were hoping to secure the services of Maughan for another term.

The Midland Tribune reports that the county board have been pleased with the senior footballers’ campaign in 2019.

Offaly managed to retain their NFL 3 status, while in the championship, they ran Meath close in the Leinster campaign, before defeating London and Sligo in the qualifiers.

Their run came to an end when Laois defeated them in round three, but there is general optimism in the county going forward.

The decision now looks to be left with Maughan who came on board at the start of the campaign, but the general thought is that the former Mayo manager will stay on for another year at least.
