It would seem rumours of Gaelic football's demise have been greatly exaggerated.
All of the sport's ills were forgotten about for 70 glorious minutes last night as old rivals Kerry and Dublin served up a brilliant contest in front of the RTE cameras at a sold-out Austin Stack Park in Tralee. If only ever game could be like that!
We know Dublin don’t have much done, and we know Kerry do, and that it’s ‘only’ the league and some key names were missing, but that was wonderful fun in Tralee last night. Two teams taking each other on, utilising all the trappings of modern football. More please!

The truth of the matter is, Kerry and Dublin gave Gaelic football a massive lift tonight with that game of high intensity, honesty, kick the ball, man on man action. When football is played like that it's a great game. Hope teams and managers take note. #goforit #AllianzLeagues

Back home after a thrilling game in Austin Stack Park - the young guns of Kerry certainly have a great future - football played this way is a joy to behold - fair play to Dublin and Kerry I’d watch that every night of the week 👍

What a game! Start to finish it was brilliant. Kerry very impressive again but Dublin to their credit almost stole a point. Onwards & upwards for Kerry.

Kerry/Dublin 🏐👏🏼Football at its best.Long way to go but Monaghan,Mayo,Kerry and Dubs playing a style that is the most effective way of winning and beating the best!!Early days but Kerry young lads fearless.Shame can’t meet in championship til final.#changeformat #AllianzLeagues

Great game of old-style football with Dublin and Kerry tonight. Advanced mark looks good, with the added intrigue of lads having to improve their shooting at goal

Great game of ball that, Dublin are a serious outfit, that defeat will only make them stronger, but what about the boy Moynihan, absolutely class, they sure do breed them well down in Kerry. Also @starryboy14 is as good in the box office as he was in the 14. #KerryDub

Great game... @Kerry_Official just about deserved it..a team full of running, skill & fight...like Dublin... @DubGAAOfficial will be happy with the comeback & last 10 mins... & sending off wasn't a sending off.p Pity about the scrappy & unsightly row at end... #AllianzLeagues
