The famous Cork GAA club which was on the brink of going out of existence will hold an EGM tonight to elect a new committee.
Redmonds GAA announced in September that they were disbanding on December 31, but the local community subsequently rallied behind them to prevent that from happening and the club has already committed to fielding a junior football team in 2019. It also plans to reapply for its bar licence.
Redmonds represented Cork when they won the All-Ireland SHC title in 1892 and were Cork senior hurling champions in 1900, 1901, 1915 and 1917.
Tonight is D-night- 8PM at Redmonds clubhouse, Tower Street. Looking for new committee members, players, sponsors, neighbors and friends new and old. In short anyone willing to help out in anyway to consolidate the future of #RedmondsGAA. Please RT #gaa #corkgaa @OfficialCorkGAA— Redmonds GAA (@RedmondsG) November 7, 2018
