Limerick club Monaleen are in the middle of playing two SFC matches in the space of 72 hours, before they have a break of at least 14 weeks to the next round.

Last night, the 2016 Limerick SFC champions finally got their campaign up and running with a 2-06 to 0-12 draw against Na Piarsaigh.

Both their opening round matches were called off due to bad weather in recent weeks and now the club must prepare for their second round on Sunday evening when they take on St Senan's at Clarina.

That means they have just three days between their two games, despite the fact that round three of the championship has been provisionally pencilled in for the weekend of July 19th-22nd.

However, depending on how Limerick do at county level, those dates could be pushed back. There has been a lot made of April being designated for the club scene alone and the fact that some counites have decided to start their championships before a long break until the next round.
