Clare forward Eoin Cleary has revealed that it is 'enjoyable' playing in the current team.

Having gained their first NFL win away from home in two years when defeating Down in Pairc Esler last Sunday week, confidence in the squad is high at the moment.

Aside from the poor performance against Meath, the Banner men have had a decent campaign and they are still very much in the hunt for promotion.

This weekend, they are at home to Roscommon and Cleary feels they are going in the right direction even though they have drawn both their home games to date.

"We took a lot of character from the Tipperary and Cavan games, when they looked to be going away from us. It's really enjoyable to play in this side at the moment with the heart we are showing," Cleary told the Clare Champion.

"The supporters and your parents would be proud of this side. To be honest I'm really delighted to be part of this Clare team at the moment. It's a team you can be really proud of.

"Our away record has been fairly poor in the last two or three years, especially in the league. To get a win like we did against Down is great for this young team and I think it will drive it on to greater things."
