Laois manager John Sugrue is happy with his side's performances to date but admits that there is still work to be done.

The O'Moore County made it three wins from three in the Division Four campaign when defeating Waterford last Saturday night, although the Deise did make life hard for them.

Sugrue's charges didn't look as fluent against Waterford as they did the week before against Leitrim, but the Kerry native told the Leinster Express that they are still a team in transition.

"We're evolving a bit, we're probably still not at where we want to be with regard to our understanding of how we're playing with each other, but we're winning games," said Sugrue.

"If we can stay winning games, confidence breeds, and we'll hopefully push on another small bit for the second half of this national league, with bigger tests ahead."
