Liam Sheedy has urged the Tipperary supporters to come out in force

Tipperary manager Liam Sheedy has urged the county’s supporters to get behind the team this year.

In a battle of the last two All-Ireland SHC winners, Tipp host Limerick at Semple Stadium in the opening HL1 clash on Saturday evening.

The game will be televised live, but Sheedy told the Tipperary Star that the supporters could act as the 16th man, which may be needed on the night.

“Matches like that in your own backyard on a Saturday evening in Thurles at 5.15pm and I would plead to the county to just get behind the team in 2020,” said Sheedy.

“I certainly felt in the earlier rounds of the league last year that we (supporters) didn’t really come in behind the team and the Wexford match last year was the moment where we won over the people in Tipperary.”

The Allianz Football and Hurling Leagues are back this weekend and so is the Hogan Stand Match Tracker. Join us on Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon for live score and updates from the opening rounds.
