The time for celebrating has passed for Tipperary hurlers, according to their captain Seamus Callanan.

On Sunday, Tipp begin their 2020 campaign as they prepare to face Clare in the Munster SHL at Nenagh. Only four months have passed since the won the All-Ireland SHC title, but Callanan stressed to the Tipperary Star that the players are focused on the year ahead.

Callanan believes that it is back to a level playing field now as all counties look to lift the Liam MacCarthy Cup next year.

“We have been reflecting on the last few months and how good it have been in our county. But, come next Sunday, the 2020 season is up and running and it is good to have it on the horizon. We are all back on a level playing field now again and it’s going to be all to play for,” stressed Callanan.

“Our lads have been minding themselves well because we are conscious that you cannot let yourself go and still keep the body right. It doesn’t work that way.

“There will be loads of challenges from within our squad as well as from outside of it, so we are really looking forward to it all now.”
