Kiely not thinking of Munster final appearance

Limerick are on the cusp of reaching their first Munster SHC final in five years, but their manager John Kiely claims not to have thought about the decider.

A comfortable win over Clare last weekend has the All-Ireland champions very much back in the shake up for the Munster final.

They face Tipperary in Thurles where a win almost certainly guarantees them a place in the provincial decider, while if they are defeated, they have to hope that Clare beat Cork for the Shannonsiders to progress.

They are many permutations to be addressed, but for Kiely it is all about winning on Sunday and maintaining the form they have shown in the last two games.

“I don’t think about it to be honest – I only think about this phase of the competition that we are in, which is game four of four within the round robin,” Kiely states in the Limerick Leader.

“Thinking about a Munster final is only a distraction and there is one sure way of not ending up in one and that’s to start thinking about it – we will focus on our performance and that is the bottom line.”
