Loughmore nominate Ormond for Tipp captaincy
April 07, 2008
Tipperary and Munster club hurling champions Loughmore-Castleiney have nominated Paul Ormond for the Tipperary senior team captaincy.
However, in the event of Ormond or any other Loughmore player failing to secure a regular starting place, Loughmore have agreed that the captaincy should go to Eoin Kelly, who has been nominated vice-captain.
A statement issued by the Tipperary county board read: "In the event of no Loughmore-Castleiney player making the Tipperary team for the forthcoming championship, the Tipperary county board, having consulted with the team management and the county champions Loughmore-Castleiney, have nominated Eoin Kelly of Mullinahone as vice-captain."
