Neville, Jimmy

The late Jimmy Neville There was an outpouring of grief in Roscrea as news spread of the passing of Mr Jimmy Neville, Limerick Street. An extremely well known local man, Jimmy had operated a highly successful timber merchants business in Limerick Street for many years, having been in the retail business for most of his life. A great follower of the GAA and most especially Tipperary and Roscrea, Jimmy played himself in his younger days and was a regular supporter of hurling at all levels, taking particular interest in his younger days and was a regular supporter of hurling at all levels, taking particular interest in the younger players who he encouraged in every possible way. But of all Jimmy's excellent qualities, the one that he will probable be best remembered for is his unstinging generosity. If Jimmy could help in any way at all he would do so quietly and without the need for recognition and he took great pleasure in doing what he could to help causes in his hometown. A wonderful family man, Jimmy is survived by his wife Kitty, his daughters Ann and Bernadette, his sons Vincent, Christopher and Patrick, sisters, aunt and uncles, brothers in law, daughters in law, sons in law, grandchildren, relatives, neighbours and many many friends to whom the sympathy to all is extended at this sad time. His remains were removed from his home to St Cronan's Church and following a very moving Requiem mass he was laid to rest in the adjoining cemetery. May he rest in peace.
