He married and moved to Moneygall with his new bride Moll where he enjoyed over 58 years of happy marriage before his departure from this world. Paddy and Moll had a great love for Irish music and song. Moll is an aunt of Mick Foster from Foster & Allen fame. Burgess and Moneygall GAA Clubs provided a guard of honour at the removal from Donovan's Funeral Home to Moneygall Church and flags at both clubs were placed on the coffin. Fr Pat Mulcahy, PP., Dunkerrin said in his homily that Paddy was a very popular man in the community and always had visitors at his home. Paddy was laid to rest at Dunkerrin cemetery and the large crowd that attended his funeral was a measure of the esteem in which Paddy and his wife Moll were held in the community.
