The late Patrick Joseph Dillon Patrick Joseph (Pad Joe) Dillon, Kilkishen, who died unexpectedly at the Mid-Western Regional Hospital was a native of Garraunboy, Killaloe. Pad Joe and his Kilkishen born wife, Christina, lived most of their forty-seven married years in Kilkishen where they raised their sons, Denis and Michael. Born in 1925, Pad Joe was an active member of the Smith O'Brien GAA Club and played on the 1950 Junior 'B' team that brought County honours to Killaloe. Large crowds of sympathisers from his native and adopted parishes and beyond, paid their last respects to Pad Joe at O'Halloran's funeral home, Tulla and at the Parish Church Kilkishen, testifying to the high esteem in which his family and extended family are held throughout the district. His coffin arrived at Kilkishen Parish Church draped in the colours of his beloved Smith, O'Brien Club. Requiem Mass in St. Senan's Church, concelebrated by Frs. McNamara, McCormack and Malone was followed by burial in Clonlea Cemetery. Sincere sympathy is extended to Christina and her sons Denis and Michael; to his grandchildren Joanne, Sean and Laura; extended family, relatives and many friends. May his gentle soul rest in peace.
