The Late Tom Henebry The death occurred of Thomas (Tom) Henebry, Mooreabbey, Galbally, Co. Tipperary as a result of a car accident. The deceased was on a life saving machine for approximately two weeks and despite all the efforts of doctors and nurses he died. His death at thirty years of age has caused a major shock not only to his parents, brother, sister and to his innumerable friends nationwide. A quiet and unassuming young man he was ever ready to give a helping hand to anyone that sought his assistance with vehicle trouble. His popularity was nationwide which was borne out on Sunday night last when the removal of his remains from Fraser's Funeral Home was set for 7.30pm but due to the throngs who came to offer their sympathy to his parents and the other members of his family the remains did not arrive at the church until after 10pm. In his teenage years Tom played Gaelic football and hurling with the local club in Galbally. His father Michael also played with Galbally after which he became an official of the South Limerick Bord na nOg. Tom's mother Hannah (Bunty) is deeply involved with the local community as a prominent and efficient member of the Community Council. The deceased was of a light hearted and friendly disposition which made his extremely popular and respected not alone in the local community but country wide. His interest in Hot Rod car racing was spotlighted on Sunday night at the removal of remains and prior to the requiem Mass on Monday some of the hot racing cars were parked in the car park in the vicinity of the church grounds. The prayers at the Funeral Home were recited by Very Rev. Denis Canon Talbot P.P. Galbally/ Aherlow, Rev Fr. Joe Tynan C.C. do and Rev. Fr. Enda Brady C.C., Bansha/Kilmoyler who also received the remains at the church. Following the concelebrated requiem Mass on Monday the chief celebrant of which was Canon Talbot assisted by Very Rev John O'Neill P.P., Ballylanders, Rev. Fr. The crowds that attended the removal of the remains was the largest this writer has ever seen in Galbally which caused traffic delays entering or leaving the village which paid adequate tribute to the popularity of the deceased, his parents and family members.
