Ryan, John

June 30, 2005
The Late John Ryan The death occurred on June 16th of John Ryan, Ballydine. Known as 'John of the Tree', he had been in poor health in recent years. John was well known over a wide area through his involvement in farming and his views and advice were widely respected. He served on the committee of the local Boherlahan Co-Op and later as a representative to the then Mitchelstown Co-Op. He was a great follower with both Knockavilla Kickhams and Boherlahan and was a member of the 1953 Boherlahan team that contested the County final. His remains were removed from his residence, June 17th to Knockavilla church and burial took place to Ardmayle cemetery after requiem mass the following day. Kickhams club members formed a guard of honour on Friday evening at the church and his coffin was draped with noth the Kickham and Boherlahan colours. We extend sympathy to his wife, Mary, sons Tom, Johnny, Michael and Dan, daughters Mary and Joanne, brothers Thomas and Gerry, sister Bridget, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and many neighbours and friends. May he rest in peace. Courtesy of the Tipperary Star 25th June 2005
