The ease at which Tipperary dismissed Waterford in today's Munster SHC final came as a surprise to everyone - including the Premier County's hat-trick hero John McGrath.
Tipp dished out a 5-19 to 0-13 hammering to the Deise to capture their 42nd provincial title and, shortly after the final whistle, McGrath admitted to RTE's 'The Sunday Game': "When I was getting up this morning I wasn't envisaging anything like that!
"Despite the scoreline it was still a massively, massively tough game. We just stuck to our task, we just worked really hard.
"The breaks go for you some days and when you work I think they fall for you that bit more. We just had a huge work-rate and, thankfully, things paid off in the end."
McGrath finished with 3-2 to his name...
"The first goal was probably a little bit more important. I think we could have been two or three points down at the time. It was just to keep us in the game because they were starting to get on top.
"At the time it was an important score for us."
