Clonmel Commercials (Tipperary) 2-12
Tir Chonaill Gaels (London) 0-9
Clonmel Commercials produced the second-half goods this afternoon in Ruislip to see off Tir Chonaill Gaels and move into the semi-finals of the All-Ireland club senior football championship.
Two goals either side of half-time ensured that the Tipperary and Munster champions stayed in control of this contest, despite losing two of their top contingent to black cards late in the first-half.
Charlie McGeever's side made the most of the hosts' sluggish start to run up an early lead which stood at 0-5 to 0-3 when Ian Fahey rattled the Gaels' net in the 23rd minute.
It was the British champions whom owned the remaining seven minutes of the half after that however, with Adam Askin sparking three consecutive points to leave the difference at two (1-5 to 0-6) at half-time.
Despite not having black-carded duo Michael Quinlivan and Aldo Matassa for the second-half, Commercials made the perfect restart with a sublime goal from substitute Padraig Looram in the opening seconds which served to knock the stuffing out of Barney Breen's men.
Askin would be issued a straight red card soon after and in the end points from Liam Gavaghan and Mark Gottsche would only serve as consolation for the London outfit, as Clonmel closed out the win via Fahey and Paudie White sailing over scores towards a nine-point cushion.
Commercials, who upset Nemo Rangers in last month's Munster final, now face Leinster champions Ballyboden St Enda's in the All-Ireland semi-final on February 13.
