Boland, Paddy
September 23, 2010It was with great regret that we learnt last weekend of the death of Paddy Boland of Carrick on Sur and Carrick Swan G.A.A Club. Paddy was an outstanding G.A.A man and had the honour of being the longest serving Club Secretary in the history of the south board having served his beloved Carrick Swan for forty two years in that capacity. He was once described by former long serving Co secretary Tommy Barret as one of the finest and most efficient administrators in the County. He represented his club at county and divisional level for many years and served on the south and county appeals committees over a long number of years. He also had a life time involvement with Davin Park and was always to be fore in improving and promoting the venue. He was honoured with a Sean Gael award in 2003.
