Tipperary manager Liam Sheedy admits that the work ethic of his players has been outstanding.

Last week, the Tipp squad spent the week at a training camp in Spain where it is believed that it was anything bar a holiday as they were put through their paces during their stay there.

They returned to action last weekend when facing Cork in the last round of the HL1A campaign and produced an outstanding display to record a comfortable victory.

Sheedy was wholesome in his praise for his players as he told the Tipperary Star that they were unsure how the team would perform after such a tough week.

“It was a tough day as those lads had put in a lot of work in Spain,” said Sheedy. “You’d always be wondering if they had enough in the tank, but the way the structure is now, when is a good time to try and get a bit of time together, when is a good time to get away.

“There were sore bodies last Sunday evening, because in fairness, the work they had done in the last seven days was heroic.

“I have huge time for the way they are applying themselves and trying to get to the pitch of it because it is a very high bar.”
