Ger Browne bagged 3-7 as Tipperary romped to a 3-27 to 0-12 victory over Laois in a SH challenge at Puckane today.
The talented U21 star from Knockavilla Kickhams scored 3-2 from play for an experimental Tipp side which was without the likes of Padraic Maher, Brendan Maher, Noel McGrath and Patrick 'Bonner' Maher, who played in the All-Star hurling exhibition game in Singapore earlier in the day. Paul Shanahan and Conor Kenny also impressed for the Premier County who have opted out of the upcoming Munster SHL in order to concentrate on their Allianz League opener against Clare on Sunday, January 28.
Browne's first goal in the 29th minute helped the hosts to a 1-11 to 0-4 lead at the interval, with Eamonn Kelly's visitors not troubling the scoreboard operator until a minute later. A whopping 3-17 of the winners' tally came from play.
All proceeds from the game go towards the Kiladangan National School defibrillator fund and Living Links Ireland.
