The Late Enda McIntyre The entire community of South Sligo was shocked and saddened on the news of the tragic death of Enda McIntyre, aged 16, of Ballyara, Tubbercurry on Sunday , June 19th. He was a student at St. Attracta's Community School, also in Ballyara, and was a bright scholar. He was also a very promising up and coming GAA star on the football pitch who had great promise for the future. He was very popular with his class mates who were heart who were heart stricken on his passing. But no-one has felt the sorrow and shock as much as his beloved parents, Peter and Ann, his sister, Claire; brothers, Adrian and Niall who are hurting the most on their great loss. His remains was reposing on Monday June 20th at his home and the droves of people who visited his wake were overwhelmed and speechless with the cloud of sadness that covered everyone's thoughts and minds. His family were comforted to some degree to see how many of his school mates, boys and girls at St Attracta's School played their part in everything they could possibly do to show their love and loss in his death. The removal of his remains was one of the saddest ever seen for many years but his friends played a major role in the funeral procession that was the most touching carrying the casket out, the Guard of Honour that was assembled on both days. On his entry to St. John Evangelist Church parish priest Fr. Pat Lynch like all mourners was touched by the sadness of the occasion, but in his own lovely manner Fr Pat was able to put his experience and kindness to suit the moment that was really a silence of disbelief. On Wednesday Solemn Requiem Mass which was celebrated in a most packed church of people and a funeral procession that was organised mainly by students and friends took the slow pace to St Attractas Cemetery in Rhue, his final resting place. Deepest sympathy is extended to his heartbroken parents Peter and Ann to sister Claire and brothers Adrian and Niall to his uncles, aunts, cousins, relatives, school pals, football friends and all his friends who are all feeling a deep sorrow in his passing. May he rest in Peace. Courtesy of the Western People 28th June 2005
