Sligo forward David Kelly looks set to miss their Connacht championship opener against London.

Kelly has been struggling with an ankle injury all year and missed the entire league campaign. However, he is on the comeback trail and is set to return to full training in the coming weeks

This, according to Sligo manager Kevin Walsh will come too late for Kelly to be match fit for the trip to Ruislip on Sunday, May 26th.

"David is on target to be back fully fit towards the end of May, but realistically he has little chance of making the London game," Walsh told the Sligo Champion.

Sligo's injury list has subsided in recent weeks and apart from Kelly, Johnny Kelly and Kenneth Sweeney are the only two on the treatment table at the moment, although both are expected to be fit for the London match. Tweet
