Underdogs tag pleases Loughnane

Sligo manager Declan Loughnane has no problem with being the underdogs for Saturday's Nicky Rackard Cup clash against Roscommon.

The sides meet at Athleague in the opening round of the third tier competition and the Rossies have been installed as favourites to take the title.

But, Loughnane feels that suits them and allows them to go into the match with no pressure, something that the Sligo manager is adamant will suit them.

"It suits us to be underdogs. We're going in under the radar, but we'd be quietly confident of causing an upset," Loughnane told the Sligo Champion.

The return of Keith Raymond is a huge boost to the Yeats County and Loughnane stressed that the talented forward is getting sharper by the week.

"Keith's got in more training and game time over the last month so we're hoping he'll be back to his best."
