Connacht club SFC: Brigid's show their teeth
October 18, 2010
Former provincial kingpins St. Brigid's laid down a marker when they hammered a hapless Eastern Harps by 17 points in yesterday's AIB Connacht club SFC first round encounter at Kiltoom.
St. Brigid's (Roscommon) 0-21
Eastern Harps (Sligo) 0-4
The home side were never troubled as they progressed to a provincial semi-final against Leitrim champions Glencar/Manorhamilton on November 7. Frankie Dolan and Senan Kilbride scored 0-3 each in the first half with Conor McHugh (two), Karol Mannion, David O'Connor and Cathal McHugh also finding the target to help St. Brigid's to a commanding 0-12 to 0-2 interval lead.
The Roscommon champions extended their advantage on the restart through points from O'Connor and Dolan before Paul Taylor landed Harps' third point in the 42nd minute. But Kilbride, Cathal and Conor McHugh, and Garvan Dolan continued to pile on the scores for a rampant St. Brigid's team.
