The late Noel McManemy The fact that the cortege at both his removal and funeral was one of the largest ever witnessed in the parish, was a fitting testimony to the very high esteem in which the late Noel McManemy, Carrowreagh, Keash, was held by all. Noel was the popular publican at The Traveller's Rest and was a farmer all his life. He would have been 67 at Christmas. Noel is survived by his wife, Eileen; sons Enda and Kevin; daughters, Marian, Carmel and Annette; sister, Maura; grandchildren, relatives and friends. He was educated at Carrowcrory National School and the Vocational School, Ballymote His late father, John Joe, purchased The Traveller's Rest in 1932 and Noel took it over when he married Eileen in 1971. He was a prominent member of the Keash football team in the 1960s. Keash won the Junior Championship in 1961. Noel always retained a keen interest in GAA affairs and was a regular attender at Sligo's games. His removal took place from his residence to St. Kevin's Church, Keash, and interment took place in Knockbrack Cemetery after Mass of Christian Burial, celebrated by Canon Jim Finan P.P., assisted by Fr.
