Seniors

Our senior men's footballers opened their Division 1 league campaign last Saturday evening with a 1-12 to 0-15 draw at home to Coolaney/Mullinabreena. Despite missing several players because of injury, the team battled back from a 0-7 to 0-2 deficit at one stage to earn a share of the spoils with Paul Logan contributing 1-7. Next up: we travel to Ransboro on Saturday evening to play Coolera/Strandhill at 6:30pm. Saturday's team was: Justin Lyons, Tommy Finnegan, John McGowan, Aaron McCormack, John Harvey, Dara Long, Hugh Kisby, Stephen Regan, Brian Monaghan, Neil Ewing (Capt), Eoin Gaughan 0-4, Jamie Gillen, Niall Canning, Kevin Davey 0-1, Paul Logan 1-7.Manager: Fergal O'Flaherty.

 

Ladies Update

Our ladies footballers completed their Spring League campaign last Saturday in Scarden, going down to Eastern Harps in a rearranged fixture. Hard luck to the Sligo ladies footballers who were beaten by Cavan in Division 2 of the National League last Sunday.

 

Under 16 footballers

The U16 boys footballers backed up their win against Tourlestrane last weekend with a spirited 2-10 to 3-6 success over St Mary's at Kent Park on Tuesday evening. They now host St Molaise Gaels in round 3 of the league this bank holiday Monday at 6:30pm.  The girls U16 footballers begin their league campaign on Tuesday, April 9th away to Shamrock Gaels.

 

U14 Football

The boys U14 footballers made a winning start to their Division 1 league campaign with a comprehensive victory over neighbours St Molaise Gaels in Oxfield last Friday evening. 

 

Pitch Maintenance

The Oxfield pitch committee is looking for volunteers to give a hand with the maintenance of the main football field over the next number of weeks. The committee is meeting every Monday evening at 6:30pm to do some work, starting this Monday, April 2nd. If you can spare one hour, your help would be greatly appreciated. Bring the wellies!

 

Donate your old clothes

We will be holding a Clothing Collection Day in Rosses Point and Oxfield later this month (date to be confirmed). If you have unwanted clothes, bed linen, soft toys etc. now's the time to get it ready for donation. More details will appear soon on our website and Social Media pages.

 

GAA Nursery

Saturday morning coaching for girls and boys continues at Oxfield. Session times are as follows:

Players born 2012 & 2013: 9:45am (till 10:30am)

Players born 2008, 2009, 2010 & 2011: 10:30am (till 11:30am).

 

U12 Hurling

The new season for Benbulben Gaels Under 12 hurlers begins in the next couple of weeks. New players are very welcome to get involved in 2018. For more info, please contact Aidan O'Reilly on 0879785311.
