A big thank-you to everyone who attended our Zero2Hero event in the Radisson Hotel last Thursday night. Our GAA panel which featured special guests Jack McCarron (Monaghan), Sarah Tierney (Mayo ladies football captain), Neil Ewing, Eamonn O'Hara and Brian McEniff, provided insightful and entertaining discussion and debate. That was followed by a spectacular fundraising auction, led in style by Niall Canning (ably assisted by Niall Collery) whose auctioneering expertise and turn-of-phrase kept the audience enthralled - and helped raise valuable funds for the club. Thanks to all the senior players who helped organise all the prizes. The club is also very grateful to our event sponsors: Clifford Electrical, Bank of Ireland, Dean Hall Tree Services and AVA systems for their support of the event.

We were delighted to host the Carrickmacross Emmets U14 footballers last Saturday in Oxfield for a special challenge match for the Denis Connolly Memorial Cup. Denis was a native of Teesan here in Drumcliffe, and also had a deep involvement with the Carrickmacross club in Monaghan over the years. An enjoyable and competitive match saw Carrick Emmets run out five-point winners. Our thanks to the Connolly family, Phil Gallagher, Mary Power and all those who helped with the organisation of the day.

The club's End-of-Year adult awards evening has been provisionally fixed for Friday, December 29th in Davis's Restaurant. More details soon.

Our Annual Juvenile Awards night for 2017 will take place in January. Date and venue will be confirmed in the coming weeks.
